Job Description
At Munro Footwear Group (MFG), we're looking for a Group General Manager to lead the strategy, performance and growth of our Styletread brands (Mathers, Midas, Mountfords, Mollini).
Reporting to the Chief Merchandise Officer, this role owns the end-to-end P&L and sets the commercial direction of the portfolio. We're looking for a true retailer and merchandiser—someone with strong instinct, a clear point of view on product and customer, and the ability to translate that into results.
You will lead Merchandise and Planning, shaping a customer-led, commercially disciplined range and driving trading performance. This is a role for a decisive leader who can respond to market shifts, optimise margin and inventory, and continuously evolve the offer to stay ahead.
Key responsibilities
- Own and deliver the brand strategy, visionand P&L performance.
- Lead and inspire the Merchandise team to build a commercially relevant and customerled range.
- Drive product strategy, pricingand assortment to maximise sales and margin.
- Partner cross-functionally to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Ensure strong supplier relationships and a competitive product mix.
- Champion an omnichannel mindset across retail and e-commerce.
- Build a high-performing team aligned to company values and ways of working.
About you
You're a proven retail leader who combines commercial acumen with strong people leadership. You know how to balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution, and you're comfortable making decisions that drive results.
- Minimum of 8 yearsof experience in a senior merchandise or GM role within retail.
- Strong P&L ownership with a track recordof driving growth.
- Deep understanding of omnichannel retail and e-commerce trends.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencingand negotiation skills.
- A flexible, fast-paced mindset with the ability to adapt and lead through change.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing large, cross-functional teams.
- Acustomer-first approach with a focus on delivering commercial outcomes.
- Extensive experience in high-SKU, fast-paced retail environments.
