Reporting to our Chief People Officer, this role will lead and champion the safety and well-being of our 2500 team members across our retail stores, our distribution centre (Treadshed), and our Head Office, MHub
We are looking for an experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to join our dynamic team at Munro Footwear Group (MFG). This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving our WHS systems across the business, driving the culture of safety in line with legislative requirements and operational excellence.
You will lead the development of innovative safety processes, manage Workers Compensation policies, and contribute to a positive and safe working environment by engaging key stakeholders across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain WHS management systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Foster a proactive safety culture across the group, focusing on safety behaviours and mindsets.
- Provide strategic advice to stakeholders on WHS and Workers Compensation, minimizing financial and compliance risks.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and facilitate WHS training for teams.
- Lead injury management procedures and ensure compliance with Return to Work processes.
More about You.
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Membership with the Safety Institute of Australia (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in WHS management, ideally within the retail industry.
- Proven leadership in change management with a consultative approach.
- Hands-on experience in risk assessments, safety audits, and developing WHS strategy.
- Strong knowledge of WHS and Workers Compensation legislation and risk management principles.
- Experience managing Workers Compensation policies, premiums, and injury management.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
